Dr Ilmut – DRC / South Africa

DJ
Olivier Mutombo, known in the dance and music community as Dr. Ilmutt, is a South African-based Afro-Latin DJ and social dancer whose journey bridges rhythm, movement, and emotion. His artistic story began in 2018, when he stepped behind the decks under the mentorship of Dancespirit, exploring how sound can sculpt energy on a dance floor. A year later, in 2019, his passion for connection through rhythm expanded as he began teaching social dancing, specializing in Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba. For Olivier, music is not just entertainment, it’s emotional architecture. His DJing style is defined by deep musicality and intuitive curation, aimed at uplifting audiences and tailoring each set to the unique energy of the night. Whether blending the sensual grooves of Kizomba, the romantic flow of Bachata, or the fiery pulse of Salsa, he crafts an atmosphere that feels personal, where every song is a conversation and every beat an invitation to move. On the dance floor, Olivier is known for his fluid style and precise lead, emphasizing connection, creativity, and musical interpretation. As a teacher, he focuses on helping dancers discover confidence and authentic expression, fostering community through shared rhythm and cultural appreciation. Today, Dr. Ilmutt continues to fuse architecture, dance, and music. Building spaces not only with design, but with sound and movement. His mission: to create moments where people don’t just dance but they feel seen, alive, and connected.
